Working on my Magazine

This week in order to start working on my magazine I have been practicing using Photoshop and Indesign to make sure I know how to use the programs properly so that when I start to edit my own photos and put them in my magazine I can make it all look as professional as possible.

I have decided the main article is going to be about a new rapper. He will feature on the front cover and the double page spread will be an interview with him about his new album. I will include all the other articles on the contents page and I will include some small pictures to illustrate the articles. The main colour will be red, as all the hip hop magazines I have seen have mainly been red.

All three of these magazine front covers have a close up of one artist, it is apparent that this artist will feature in the main article of the magazine. This could be to attract consumers that are interest in these particular artists to the magazine. Even if they are not regular readers of the magazine, because the cover star is so prominent on the cover, you notice them, before you notice the name of the magazine.

On the magazine on the left, the cover star '50 Cent' is actually above the headline of the magazine, thgis could suggest that the magazine isn't as important as the artist, whereas in the other two front covers (which are of the same magazine) the magazine name is infront of the cover star, suggesting that the magazine is more important than the cover star.
